Planeta源於西西里島西部的Menfi產區，該地的湖畔栽種著多樣的原生葡萄品種。在西西里島紮根了數百年，經歷了17代的傳承後，這舵交到了莊主迪亞哥（Diego Planeta）的手上。在他的帶領下，家族的製酒事業逐漸成形，從一間小形的家族酒莊，變成稍具規模的合作社，最終，迪亞哥在1985年正式成立了Planeta。

以往作為入門餐酒的大量生產地區，為了迎合市場需求，西西里島某種程度上更像是個新世界產區，島上滿布了如Chardonnay、Syrah甚至是Cabernet Sauvignon等各式國際品種。經過多年的努力，這些國際品種也累積出了足夠的實力在國際舞台上和其他世界佳釀一較雌雄。
Elegant and structured, this opens with delicate, alluring scents of yellow stone fruit, citrus, Spanish broom and Mediterranean herb. The full-bodied palate boasts freshness and finesse, delivering yellow peach, apricot, Meyer lemon and saline before a lingering honeyed almond finish.
A terrific production of 60,000 bottles, the Planeta 2019 Sicilia Menfi Cometa is an icon wine of Sicily and deservedly so. Fiano is simply radiant and lusciously rich in this medium-bodied expression. The 2019 vintage shaped nicely concentrated and flavorful fruit of apricot, honey and baked pear. Only 10% of the wine sees oak, but that's more than enough to render the extra depth and soft textural richness that puts this wine a cut above the other more one-dimensional interpretations of this indigenous Italian grape.
Smoke is the first thing that comes to mind as you take in the 2019 Fiano Cometa. Musky dried peach and nectarine, crushed almonds, fennel and gorgeous yellow florals join the mix with time in the glass. This is soft and lifted, as an inner flintiness gives way to savory baked apple and wild herbal notes. There’s a deeper richness here that only cellaring will help bring fully to the surface, as this tapers off poised yet long and almost salty in character. The 2019 Cometa already provides a lot of pleasure, but the best is yet to come.
Leuchtendes, sattes Strohgelb mit hellgoldenem Touch. Intensive, duftende Nase nach reifem Pfirsich, Litschi, Marillen und Erdbeeren unterlegt von leichtem Feuerstein. Am Gaumen ausgewogen und satt, öffnet sich cremig und geschmeidig, baut sich langsam aber konstant auf, elegante Säure umhüllt die gelbe Frucht, satt und lange im Finale.
I like the sliced pear and hints of white peach on the nose and palate. Some mineral undertones. Full body, dry and lightly bitter.
