Planeta源於西西里島西部的Menfi產區，該地的湖畔栽種著多樣的原生葡萄品種。在西西里島紮根了數百年，經歷了17代的傳承後，這舵交到了莊主迪亞哥（Diego Planeta）的手上。在他的帶領下，家族的製酒事業逐漸成形，從一間小形的家族酒莊，變成稍具規模的合作社，最終，迪亞哥在1985年正式成立了Planeta。

以往作為入門餐酒的大量生產地區，為了迎合市場需求，西西里島某種程度上更像是個新世界產區，島上滿布了如Chardonnay、Syrah甚至是Cabernet Sauvignon等各式國際品種。經過多年的努力，這些國際品種也累積出了足夠的實力在國際舞台上和其他世界佳釀一較雌雄。
This Chardonnay opens with aromas of ripe yellow apple, coconut and pineapple. The firm palate offers vanilla, toasted oak and hazelnut alongside fresh acidity.
Kraftvolles, helles Goldgelb, funkelt. Ansprechende Nase mit einem Korb an tropischen Früchten, Babyananas, Mango und Papaya, dazu Noten nach Orangenblüten und Kamille. In Ansatz und Verlauf sehr saftig, gute Spannung, breitet sich mit feinem Schmelz aus, langer Nachhall, feine Karamellnoten.

Mango dessert, banoffee pie, vanilla, parmesan and apricot compote make for a very opulent nose indeed. Despite the resounding intensity, the full-bodied and dense palate has enough acidity to lift the fleshy tropical fruit and, unbelievably, this ends quite bright. Drink now.
The Planeta 2019 Sicilia Menfi Chardonnay is a true beauty, and it's incredible to think that as many as 200,000 bottles were produced at this quality. The wine boasts a slightly old-school personality for oak-aged Chardonnay, but it is remarkably vibrant and quick-footed nonetheless. Instead of overt toast or butter, this wine shows all-Sicilian notes of toasted almond and candied fruit. It offers a medium gold color and a lifted, mid-weight texture. Fresh acidy adds sharpness and focus. The Planeta family is doing wonders with Chardonnay (you might also try the fabulous Didacus), and you can't beat this price point.
Sunshine pours out of this one! It's brash, bold and buttery with complexity and attitude to burn. Has what it takes: butterscotch, cedar, toast, honey, pineapple, tangerine, baking spice, neatly integrated oak, and squeaky acidity, which reigns in the opulence. A very consumer friendly style.
